Shifting Light

Moving from twilight into true night is breathtaking out here. The subtle colour shift submerging the world into darkness, then all of a sudden as if by magic there are shifting colours. The sky is filled with colours that only the pitch of the inky black sky can bring forth. Rainbows mirroring oil filled puddles in a barren parking lot. Beauty where before there was nothing, but emptiness.
